STORING TEA
The shelf life of tea depends significantly on how tea is stored. We generally recommend consuming teas within one year of purchase to ensure that you drink them when they are at their freshest and best. There are five storage conditions that can make a huge difference on how long your tea will last. These factors are light, heat, moisture, odor and air.
Light, UV rays, and heat degrade tea very quickly. Moisture can cause problems as it can activate enzymes that contribute to its decomposition. Tea is shelf stable because it is dry. Unfortunately, it absorbs moisture and odor very easily when exposed to air. Following are the proper ways to store tea to maintain its quality and flavor for many months to come.
